Matt and his wife Tiffany moved to the Pocono Mountains nearly eight years ago and fell in love with the surrounding woodlands and wildlife. Every piece of wood art is handcrafted, inspired by the forests around their home.

I work on high-voltage power lines, focusing on storm and disaster restoration. There’s nothing like the feeling of restoring power for people after a storm. I also taught the lineman apprenticeship for 10 years, and I still love teaching apprentices.
After I broke my back on the job, I couldn’t walk for a while after the first surgery. That’s when I started working with wood. I’ve always loved the woods, too—that’s why my wife and I moved to Pennsylvania. Our son was stationed at Fort Drum with the Army, which was another reason we came this way.
I’m back climbing and working on power lines now, but the woodwork stayed. Every piece I make is one of a kind.

Wild grain, irregular edges, and the marks of fire are not flaws to hide. They are the starting point. Every finished piece keeps something unmistakable from the wood it came from.
